Independent label: Yarmouth Recording Studios Records was a label of the Yarmouth Recording Studios, surprisingly enough. The studios were run by Roger Foley. According to the sleeve of Excalibur's 'Sceptre' LP (YRS ST-01; 1973) they were located in Scratby, which was also the home of Tony Palmer's 'City Music' studios. It managed At least three 7" singles on Yarmouth records: 'Spanish Eyes' b/w 'Crystal Chandelier' (YRS-SR-105) by Country singer Don Woods, shown, and The Berrys' version of 'Apache' b/w 'To Love Somebody' (YRS-SR-115), which had a mid-blue label of the same design. Sadly neither had dates on them. Other singles in the YRS-100 series came out on the Location Sound and Notch labels, and another one with a YRS prefix can be found on the Viking label, the Viking has been dated to early 1976, but it sadly isn't from the main series. The Oxford Road Primary School Steel Band recorded another single in 1973, which came out on S.R.T. It seems likely that their Yarmouth record is from around that time. There was also an LP by Niklestoodley, 'Across The Water', which came out in 1975 and was numbered YRS-TS-101. According to 'Studio Sound' magazine of March 1974, Yarmouth Recording Studios had its own facilities for pressing records, not just for cutting masters. Distributed By Yarmouth Records.
