WHITE RUM
RECORDS
Independent label: White Rum Records was a Reggae label;
Jamaican in origin, as the label indicates. White Rum was owned by Bertram
Brown, in association with Freedom Sounds records. It issued at least two
singles in Britain, in or around 1978, through Freedom Sounds: 'Jah Music', by
V. Jones (101-PROOF), and Philip Fraser's, 'Need To Be Loved' (102-PROOF;
5/78). 'B' sides had a 'Red Stripe' label on them.
Distribution was by Mojo and Lightning. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The
Info.
