Independent label: Front Line Records was a subsidiary of Virgin Records, dedicated to Reggae music. Front Line issued at least twenty-six singles during 1978-79, using an FLS-100 series and Over forty albums were issued on the label before it folded in 1979. It failed to bring Reggae to a wider public, but admirers of the genre say that it put out some classy music, much of which has been reissued on CD.  An initial 'fist' label was replaced with a yellow one bearing a strong family resemblance to the Virgin label proper in 1979. Distributed By Virgin Records.
