VILLAGE THING
RECORDS
Village Thing Records Was an independent contemporary Folk label
from Bristol, founded by Ian A. Anderson, John Turner (manager of the Troubadour
folk club in that city) and Saydisc Records' Gef Lucena. Village Thing
operated from 1970 to 1974 and released a couple of dozen LPs, which are going
up in price nowadays. It also released one EP - a Various Artists sampler
entitled 'The Great White Dap' - and two singles, none of which are easy to
find. Distribution was by CRD or Transatlantic at various times during the
label's life. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
