TRUE FRIENDS
RECORDS
True Friends Music Records was a DIY label. dedicated to
the music of experimental band The Film Cast - 'The Filmcast' from the second
single onwards. It issued three singles in 1979-80: 'Life In A Film Cast'
b/w 'Stations And Answers' (TF-001; 1979), 'Admission' b/w (TF-002; 1979), and
'What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted' b/w 'It May Have Been' (TF-003;
1980). A fourth, 'World Of Lights' b/w 'The Distant Heart' (TF-004)
followed in 1984. The label designs differed from one another. It
may be that initially the label was known as just 'True Friends', with 'True
Friends Music' being the publisher; the 'TF' prefix points towards that.
By the time of the third single, however, 'True Friends Music' in full appeared
on the labels. Distributed By True Friends Music Records. Thanks to
Robert Lyons For The Info.
