THE SONGWRITERS WORKSHOP
RECORDS
Independent label: Songwriters
Workshop Records was an organization set up by Tim Hollier in 1973 with the
aim of helping songwriters to compose and record. Its record label appears
to have first seen the light of day in 1979. It issued singles in an SW-0
numerical series, which reached SW-15 in 1981. Some well-known names
recorded for the label - Peter Sarstedt, Ed Welch, Maggie Britton, and The
Broughtons - but the only two singles from the '70s were by lesser-known
artists. The singles in question were 'The Weaver' by Jamie Jauncey (SW-1;
1979), and Alexander / Dale's 'The Palm Of My Hand' (SW-2; 1979). Manufacture of
the second was by Pye. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
