SWAN SONG
RECORDS
Independent label: Swan song Records was the label of Led
Zeppelin. Swan song ran from 1974 to 1983, and as well as topping the
album charts with Zeppelin's own releases it enjoyed singles success in Britain
with Dave Edmunds and with Maggie Bell. The label's design remained
basically the same throughout its existence, with only a change to the perimeter
credits - a credit to Warner Communications was added from SSK-19408
onwards. British distribution was via WEA; the singles were issued in an
SSK 19400 series, and there were roughly thirty of them, though some were only
issued overseas. The Led Zeppelin single, 'Trampled Under Foot' (DC-1) was
a limited edition promo only. Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed
in London in 1968. The group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert
Plant, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The
band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their
early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy
metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences,
including folk music. Distributed By WEA Records. Swan Song Records Former
