SURGERY
RECORDS
Surgery Records was a DIY label. It appears to have been
owned by Punk band The Surgeons, from Harrow. Its sole release was
that band's, 'Sid Never Did It' (S-100), which came out in 1979. The label
was one of those minimum-cost plain white ones, upon which the credits were
hand-stamped, as shown by the scan. However, there is a couple of examples
of more ambitious, printed, labels, which suggests that at one time the band had
more ambitious plans. Distributed By Surgery Records. The Surgeons
are an old school punk band from Penzance Cornwall. The Surgeons story began in
1977, when Pete Kliskey formed Penzance's first punk band The Cramp. This
evolved into The Surgeons when Pete was joined by brother Mike on bass and Jimmy
Jewell on drums. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
