STEENHUIS
RECORDS
Steenhuis Records was a Label of
Wout Steenhuis's Broadstairs-based studios. Steenhuis seems to have been a
custom recording concern. Its records were numbered in an SPC-300 series
which reached at least SPC-347, but googling brings up only a handful of them,
all LPs and all undated. There was, however, at least one single made
through the company: it was a fairly typical Football song called 'Here Come The
Cherries', credited to A.F.C. Bournemouth & Foursite Saga (SPC-342).
That, too, was undated, but fortunately a club supporters' website pins it down
to 1973. The 'B' side, 'Christmas Tree, was performed by Foursite Saga on
their own. Pressing was by British Homophone. Just for the sake of
interest (!) albums on Steenhuis included 'Rhythmic Sounds' by Chante Clair
(SPC-338), an eponymous LP by Tony Weston (SPC-344), 'He's My Brother' by
Nicholas & Nickelby (SPC-346), and Carol Lee Scott's 'In Time'
(SPC-347). The album label was white and featured a cockerel logo. Thanks
to Robert Lyons For The Info.
