Independent label: Spotlight/Starlight Records was a Label or Labels associated with Spotlight and later Starlight magazine, which issued a number of freebie singles. It managed at least two singles. The first was Various Artists - New Spotlight Star Souvenir Greetings New Spotlight / 208 SP 1. Produced for New Spotlight magazine by Radio Luxembourg, London. This was a free single with the December 1972 issue of The New Spotlight Magazine which on its day was an Irish version of the NME.It includes spoken Christmas from all the artists plus a few bars of Get Down With It by Slade.The Johnny Cash track Danny Boy is also unique in that it has a spoken intro. Radio Luxembourg used to advertise Spotlight magazine around 1972, in fact it was pretty much a Luxy promo tool, featuring articles on Tony Prince, Dave Christian, Kid Jensen, Mark Wesley, Paul Burnette. The second was Permanent Cure - Down On The Jollity Farm Starlight STAR 2. Distributed By Spotlight/Starlight Records.
