SPIRAL
RECORDS
Independent label: Spiral Records was from Lytham, Lancashire
and was a product of the Ditchburn organization, which was also responsible for
the 'Domino' and 'Red Domino' labels. It seems to have appeared in 1971 and
to have disappeared late in the following year. It issued seven singles,
in a DIT-0 numerical series. The Bob Miller ensemble featured on DIT-3 was
a popular Big Band in the '50s and '60s, while DIT-1, 'A Ra Chicera', by the
Delmonts, is reported to be a Reggae record. Singles were pressed by
Decca and Pye Records , judging by the style of the matrix numbers on the
run-offs. Jim Thomas was the label manager of the various Ditchburn
labels. Distributed By Pye Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For
The Info.
