SPECTRE
RECORDS
Spectre Records was a DIY label. It managed at least
one singles. 'A Special Goodnight To You' by television and radio presenter
David Hamilton, which had a catalogue number of SP-501. There is no date
on the label: 'A Special Goodnight To You' was apparently the phrase which David
Hamilton used to sign off at the end of his television programme in the late
'60s (and ealy '70s?) before he moved to Radio One and gained the nickname
'Diddy', so presumably the record was made while the expression was still fresh
in people's minds. It seems likely therefore that Spectre dates from
either 1969 or 1970. Also unusual is the way that the sides are marked 'X' and
'Y' instead of 'A' and 'B'. The style of matrix number suggests that
pressing was done by CBS. Distributed By Spectre Records. Thanks to
