SNIFF
RECORDS
Sniff Records was a London-based DIY Punk label, owned by
The Wimps and named as a parody of Stiff Records - the parody extended to the
label design. Sniff appeared in 1979 and disappeared in the following
year, leaving two EPs by the Wimps behind it: 'Modern Girl' (SNORT-1; 1979), and
'Blind Minds' (SNORT-2; 1980). Distributed By Rough Trade Records. The
Wimps was a London, UK based power-pop/mod/punk band founded in 1977 and
disbanded in 1980. Band members: Rob Metcalfe (vocals), Rog Hyams (drums), Rick
Marshall (guitar), Saul Rosenberg (bass), J. Rosenberg (guitar). Thanks to
