SJ
RECORDS
SJ Records was a DIY label. And one of those cases where
there is no company name on the label, and have to use the prefix of the
catalogue number as an identifier. The only record to be issued on the SJ
label - if that is what it was - was an EP by Daisy Hodges, 'Silver Jubilee',
celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. It had a
catalogue number of SJ-01 and a very basic white label. As can be seen
from the scan of the label has thin dinking perforations and a general EMI look
to it, suggesting an EMI pressing. Daisy Hodges was the mother of Chas
Hodges, of Chas & Dave fame, and 'Silver Jubilee' was written by that duo,
so they may have been the driving forces behind the record. Distributed By SJ
Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
