SGS
RECORDS

Independent label: SGS Records is Not exactly a label as such, but a South London recording studio.  Records bearing matrix numbers in its SGS-100 series date from 1978 to 1980; most of the ones have had plain white labels which were then rubber-stamped, stickered or otherwise marked by the bands themselves.  The one most commonly happened upon is the Damned's 'Love Songs' (SGS-105; 1978), which came out on the Dodgy Demo Co Record 'label', but other records appeared on South Circular, Synesthesia and Industrial Accident.  SGS-104, however, an EP by The Isrealites and Children of Charlton Park P. H. School, had a proper printed label, though with no SGS identity apart from the catalogue number.  Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
