Independent label: SGS Records is Not exactly a label as
such, but a South London recording studio. Records bearing matrix numbers
in its SGS-100 series date from 1978 to 1980; most of the ones have had plain
white labels which were then rubber-stamped, stickered or otherwise marked by
the bands themselves. The one most commonly happened upon is the Damned's
'Love Songs' (SGS-105; 1978), which came out on the Dodgy Demo Co Record
'label', but other records appeared on South Circular, Synesthesia and
Industrial Accident. SGS-104, however, an EP by The Isrealites and
Children of Charlton Park P. H. School, had a proper printed label, though with
no SGS identity apart from the catalogue number. Thanks to
