SCHOLASTIC
RECORDS
Independent American label: Scholastic Records was a
record label of the Scholastic Press, of New York, a prominent publisher of
books for children. Scholastic records featured children's stories, both
traditional and more up to date. Far more of them were issued in the
States than there were in Britain, but at least eight appeared over here from
1970 to 1973 - the dates on both the labels shown indicate 1971, as does
the matrix number on the first example, but the matrix number on the second one
is from 1973. Catalogue numbers were in an SR-1000 series, and pressing,
latterly at least, was by Lyntone. The British division of Scholastic
Publications was based at 161 Fulham Road, London SW3 6SW. Distributed By
Scholastic Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
