Salt Records was a DIY Christian Music' label from 1972. Salt's only release was a single, 'Benedictus', by Ishmael & Andy. Its catalogue number was EBC-1. Ishmael & Andy - actually Ian Smale and Andy Piercy - recorded an LP for Myrrh in 1973; they went on to achieve considerable popularity in the Christian Rock field, Ishmael with a series of solo albums, Andy as the front man for hitmakers After The Fire. Distributed By TS Records. Andy Piercy is a singer-songwriter who came to prominence in the Gospel beat acoustic guitar duo, Ishmael and Andy, together with Ian Smale (Ishmael). In 1974 he replaced John Leach as guitarist and lead vocalist in After the Fire. He stayed with that group, later taking on bass duties, until they split up in 1983.
