ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN
RECORDS
Road Safety Campaign Records was a DIY label. It
managed one single a one-off Road Safety single by the Children Of Argyle
School, Camden, 'The Green Cross Code Song', which came out in 1971 and is
mainly of interest because the 'B' side, 'When You're Young', was by Folk band
Magna Carta. Presumably the Hackney Accident Prevention Committee was the
moving force behind the record. The label was yellow with black printing;
it had a simple design with the label name at the top in two lines of capitals,
'Road Safety Campaign' at the left, and the credits at the bottom. There
was no catalogue number on the label, and as yet I haven't been able to confirm
the matrix number. The single can also be found on the 'ROSPA' label
(q.v.); which came first is open to question. Pressing in both cases was
by Polydor. Distributed By Road Safety Campaign Records. Thanks to
Robert Lyons For The Info.
