Proteen Records was a DIY label. It was responsible for at least one record, an EP by The Sparkles featuring 'Tell Me The Answer', 'Did You Imagine', 'Summer Song' and 'Maggie's Double'; it came out in 1974 and had a catalogue number of PRO-1. J.P. Bryan produced the record, wrote three of the songs and co-wrote the other, so it seems reasonable to guess that he was the driving force behind the band and the label.
