Independent label: Pollen Records was the label of the Pollen recording studios, of Haxby, Yorkshire. It issued records by the usual sort of Club / Cabaret artists who used the services of custom-recording firms, but it also came up with a couple of Punk collectables. These were a couple of singles by Mod / Punk band Sema 4, 'If I ever Know' (PMB-022; 1979), and 'Capital City' (PMB-024; S/79/CUS-512; 1979). The only other singles on Pollen were, 'Raise The Roof Tonight', by Shove, which came out in 1981, and the Al Jackson EP pictured (PBM-011; 1977); what the others were is a mystery at the moment. The standard Pollen label seems to have been plain yellow with black printing, but the company obviously offered the option of personalised labels, such as the one shown.
