NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL
RECORDS
Independent label: Nashville
International Records was a London-based Country Music label, owned by
Mervyn Conn; a successor to his 'Nashville' label. Nashville International
lasted long enough (1972 to 1975) to issue at least nine singles; it also
released around a dozen albums, including a new one from British duo Graham and
Lynn McCarthy and reissues from Bill Black's Combo and Harlan County. A
couple of the company's singles, 'Looking Back In Anger' by Glen Sherley
(7N-45181) and Sammi Smith's 'I've Got To Have You' (7N-25595) were issued on
the Pye / Pye International labels on the 6th of October 1972; the Nashville
International label as such appeared in the following month. Manufacture
and distribution were by Pye. The American material on the label was to be
licensed mainly from the 'Mega' label. In 1980 Conn started up the 'MC' or
'Mervyn Conn' label, which was again dedicated to Country music. Thanks to
