MOTOR CITY RYTHEM

Independent label: Motor City Rhythm Records was from
Birmingham. Former Address: D&S Records, 196 Wake Green Road, Moseley,
Birmingham. Judging by catalogue numbers Motor City Rhythm seems to have issued
at least six singles in 1979-80. One of the singles (the first?), Leargo's
'Played Out Angel', used a number from the DNS label's series, DNS-87903, but
the rest had their own dedicated MCR-100 series. The music covered a
variety of styles, from the New Wave / Punk of The Daze's 'I Wanna Be A Star'
(MCR-101; 1979) through the Reggae of 'She's Gone' by Eclipse (MCR-103; 1980) to
the NWOBHM of the Starfighter single shown above, 'I'm Falling' (MCR-105;
1980). The label of the Daze record was light-blue and black rather than
