Mettle Records was a DIY label. The record label of Joe Stanley's Mettle Music publishing company, of Chiswick. Mettle seems to have managed just the one release, the single by Tony Hayes, 'Comin' Home To You' b/w 'Give Me Time'. It came out in 1978, had a catalogue number of MET-1, and was pressed by Pye. As far as the musical content is concerned, it is tuneful Pop - the sort of thing you can imagine the Bay City Rollers covering. Stanley, who was also a record producer and songwriter, made a more fruitful venture into the record market in the early '80s via his 'JSO Records' label, His real name, apparently, was Stanley Adkinson.
