Independent American label: MC Records was a short-lived
Country & Western label from the Motown stable, started up by Mike Curb and
Berry Gordy. It inherited several artists from Motown's recently-deceased
Melodyland / Hitsville label, but was no more successful with them than that
company had been. The two MC singles which came out in Britain were
numbered in an MC-7000 series and were pressed and distributed by EMI, through
its Licensed Recording Division; they are rarely met-with today. After the
first single came out the catalogue number and publishing details on the label
