LINEAR
RECORDS
Linear Records was a DIY label from the late 1970s. It released
just the one single, 'White Night', by Alternative Punk band The Lines (SJP-782;
1978). The catalogue number was proper to Fair Deal studio, a custom
recording company from Hayes, rather than the label; other records with that
prefix can be found on Stuart Johnson Productions and Clubland Records.
The matrix number, LYN-5225, shows that the single was pressed by Lyntone.
'White Night' proved popular enough to be reissued by Illegal Records. The
Lines went on to make several records for the Red label. Distributed By Linear
Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
