LEW LEWIS
RECORDS
Lew
Lewis Records was a DIY label. It managed one single. As
part of a typical Stiff marketing trick 500 copies of this single were released
as what appears to be a private pressing. In truth the repress (LEW 1) was
planned all along and followed very swiftly after. These copies have handwritten
style labels using either white or pale blue paper. Distributed By Stiffs
Records. Lew Lewis Born on Canvey Island, Essex is a "Little Walter-influenced"
harmonica player and vocalist who was a member of Eddie and the Hot Rods before
forming his own bands, and guesting on albums by The Stranglers, The Clash and
others.
