LEST WE FORGET ASSOCIATION
RECORDS
Lest We Forget Association Records
was a DIY label. As its name suggests, the Lest We Forget Association
is a charity devoted to serving disabled members and ex-members of the Armed
Forces. It was established in 1922, and from late 1963 it had a branch
covering the Moleseys & Hampton Court area; I would guess that it was that
branch which was responsible for the issue of an EP of Christmas carols from the
local church of St. Mary's, Hampton, in 1972. The EP had a catalogue
number of LWF-1-DW, and it seems to have been the Association's only venture
into record production. Presumably it was intended to be sold to raise
funds for the charity. In addition to the tracks shown it offered
'Ding! A-Dong Ding!', 'The Angel Gabriel' and 'O Come, All Ye
Faithful'. The labels are somewhat bubbled, suggesting that they may have
been stuck over white ones. There don't seem to be many copies of the
record around, nowadays. Distributed By Lest We Forget Association Records.
