ILLEGAL PRESSINGS
RECORDS
Illegal Pressings Records was was owned by the Punk band Demon
Preacher. It issued only one record, that band's, 'Royal Northern' EP
(SRTS/CUS-78110; 1978). Manufacturing was by SRT. Demon Preacher moved
on to the Small Wonder label, and eventually evolved into Alien Sex Fiend. Demon
Preacher was a punk band from Islington, which was active during the second half
of the 1970s and early 1980s. The band is probably best known as the front by
Nik Wade (eg. Nicholas Wade), who later adopted the pseudonym Nik Fiend and
founded Alien Sex Fiend. The band released several singles before it disbanded.
The group was founded by singer Nik Wade and guitarist Tony Gialanze the end of
1975. The group initially consisted of Wade, Gialanze, guitarists Big Tony Ward
and Geoff Bedz, drummer Gel Healy and Gialanzes girlfriend Sharon Mac on bass.
