Hot Buttered Soul Records was American in origin. It issued a couple of singles in Britain in 1975-76, the company's logo appearing on the label alongside that of parent company ABC Records. The singles, both of which featured Soul artist Isaac Hayes, shared ABC's ABC-4000 catalogue series. By mid '76 Hayes's records were appearing on the standard black ABC label, and the HBS logo had gone. Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr. Born August 20, 1942 and Died  August 10, 2008) was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and producer.
