Independent label: Honky Tonk Records was based at 802 B, Christchurch Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Dorset. It issued at least a couple of 7" records, both of them EPs, in 1978-79. As well as the one shown, Hippo's 'They Can't Hear Me' (HTEP-45; GA 003 1979), and 'Stand By Your Love', by Raw Deal (HTEP-44; GA 002 1978). The EP format and the rarity of Honky Tonk's products point to it being one of the many custom recording labels that were around in the 1970s. The Hippo EP was recorded at Arny's Shack.
