HMV GREENSLEEVE
RECORDS
HMV Greensleeve Records was a budget-priced Classical label
from the EMI group. HMV Greensleeve was almost exclusively an album
label; it appears to have issued only one single, a seasonal offering by the
Woodfall Junior School Choir, 'Jingle Bells' (GNS-1). As the demo
label indicates, the single came out in December 1976. There was
another single on HMV Greensleeve, offering excerpts from Rodrigo's 'Guitar
Concerto' and 'Fantasia For A Gentleman' by Angel Romero with the London
Symphony Orchestra (PSR-416; 1977), but it was a demo-only one and was numbered
in EMI's special non-issue PSR-000 series. The well-known HMV label itself
didn't issue any singles in the '70s - it was shelved in the late '60s and
revived briefly in the early '80s. Distributed By EMI Records. Thanks
