GANNET
RECORDS
Gannet Records was a DIY label. It managed one
single. an EP, 'Four By Three', by Rock trio the Next Band. Its catalogue
number was SRTS/78/CUS-159; as the number indicates, it came out in 1978 and was
made by custom-recording concern SRT. The Next Band was originally based in
Grantham, but it moved up to Yorkshire; the tracks on the EP are reported to
have been made at Fairview Studios, in Hull. Drummer Frank Noon went on to
join Def Leppard, which makes the Next Band record rather collectable.
