EG
RECORDS

Independent label: EG Records was formed by David Enthoven and John Gaydon's EG Management, though by the time the label appeared both Enthoven and Gaydon had left the company.  In 1978, after a decade or so a management agency, EG started issuing records on its own label.  Bands such as King Crimson and Roxy Music, which were under contract to EG, moved to the new label.  EG singles had rather plain injection-moulded labels, betraying their Polydor / Polygram associations.  Both EG and Polydor logos appeared on the label, but on occasions they were so small as to be scarcely visible. Singles shared POSP-0 and 2001-000 series with Polydor's own singles.  The EG logo appeared on records from February 1978 onwards. Distributed By Polydor Records.
