DOUBLE TOP
RECORDS
Double
Top records was a short-lived label from EMI's budget-priced division
Music For Pleasure. Double Top records are surprisingly hard to find, for a
label which was run by a major company, which suggests that not many people did
what they were urged to do by the blurb on the back of the sleeve, "Look out for
the Double Top label and collect this exciting new series." The fare on
offer was a pairing of the kind of anonymous cover versions of hits that could
be found on MFP's 'Top Of The Pops' albums. Numbering was in the
SDV-20000s, and the label appears to have come and gone in
1972. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The
Info.
