 Independent label: Clubland started as Stuart Johnson Productions Records which shared the same numbering and was the precursor to Clubland. Numbering was in an SJP-700 series. which seems to have started at SJP-761. The '76' part of which may indicate the year in which the label started up. Clubland appears to have been the label of the Fair Deal Recording Studio, of Hayes, one of those custom-pressing businesses, which recorded and had pressed singles for anybody who was prepared to pay for the service; that would account for both the number of releases and their rarity. The 'SJP' of the prefix stood for 'Stuart Johnson Productions'. Which suggests that Stuart Johnson was the man in charge of the company. There was also an actual 'Stuart Johnson Productions' label. Lot of records with Clubland numbers came out on other independent / DIY labels.  The actual Clubland label came in at least two different colours: black on red, and silver on black.  The design remained the same for both types. A label from 1979 gives the company's address as 1, Gledwood Drive, Hayes, Middlesex. The company survived until at least 1985, by which time the numbers had reached the SJP-850s. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
