CITY
RECORDS
Independent label: City Records was the descendant of
Tony Palmer's 'City Music', from Scratby, which seems to have dropped the
'Music' in 1973 and become just plain 'City'. The only records on
this particular City label were a couple of EPs: Tony Gray's 'Route 66'
(CMEPC-7301; 1973) and 'On The Road', by British Country & Western group The
New Westernaires (CMEPC-7302). The New Westernaires were formed in 1964 by
singer / guitarist Mel Hague, and they were popular on the British Country
circuit for many years. Thanks to
Robert Lyons For The Info.
