BUMBLE
RECORDS
Bumble Records was a DIY label. This Bumble label was more
short-lived than the first and was more bumble-beeish in appearance. It was
from the Midlands. Bumble FormerAddress: 54 Oxford Street, Penkhull,
Stoke-On-Trent. The only record was an EP by Ray Parkes called 'Bar Room
Country Singer', which had a catalogue number of BUM-1. There is no
date on the label, but three of the tracks (Don Williams's 'Amanda' and 'Time On
My Hands', plus Tom Paul Glazier's 'Put Another Log On The Fire') are from the
early / mid '70s. The title track, which was written by Ray Parkes
himself, became popular on the continent in a version recorded by Roger
Whittaker in 1981. Logic indicates that Parkes's own version must pre-date
that one, which suggests that the EP dates from 1979 or
1980. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The
Info.
