Small independent labels from the New Wave era. As the label indicates, Black Griffin was based in Canterbury. It issued at least one record, a single by the Purple Hipsters, 'Howzyasistah' (BGR-01), in 1979. The Hipsters went on to contribute two tracks to a Various Artists LP, 'First Offence', on a bigger independent, Criminal Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
