one-off label from 1972. Big League's sole offering was a single coupling
'Up The Spurs' by The Cheers with an anonymous piano-led instrumental version of
John Brown's Body, rechristened 'Spurs Go Marching On'. Its catalogue /
matrix number was TC SP-1, which looks very much as though the single was made
through custom recording firm TC Records of Polzeath. Pressing was by
British Homophone. Tony Carr wrote, directed and / or arranged both
tracks, so it seems reasonable to guess that he was the man behind the
company. Helpfully the labels give the name of the record's distributor:
Sports Souvenirs, of High Road, Tottenham. The single must have sold well
enough to merit a couple of pressings, as it can also be found with
