BEST FRIENDS
RECORDS
Best
Friends Records was a DIY label. And
one of those cases where I've had to name a label after the band whose record
came out on it. Best Friends were a brass-led Jazz / Funk band from the
York area; they put out a three-track EP on their own label in 1979. The
tracks on it were a vocal, 'Asbury Park', and two instrumentals with lots of
room for solos, 'Raizkozmik' and 'Go West'; they were recorded in the September
Sound studios (see Look Records) in February 1979. The sleeve notes
include thanks to Nic Parker - presumably it's his initials which form the
prefix of the catalogue number, NP-001. Distributed By Best Friends
Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The
Info.
