The Belt and Braces
Roadshow Company was a Socialist theatre company. It was founded by Gavin
Richards in 1973, and in addition to its work in the field of drama it issued a
couple of records on its own label, both by the Belt And Braces
Band. BB-001 was an eponymous album, and was produced by Martin Hannett;
BB-002 was a single, 'Fight For The Right To Work'. The single, which came
out in 1978, has been described broadly as 'Folk Rock'. Gavin
Richards (born 3 July 1946 in London) is a British actor, writer and
director. He is best known for adapting, directing and starring in the West End
production of Dario Fo's Accidental Death Of An Anarchist. He also played
Captain Alberto Bertorelli in the BBC sitcom 'Allo 'Allo! from 1987 to 1989, and
Terry Raymond in the BBC soap opera EastEnders between 1996 and 2002. Belt And
