The Belt and Braces Roadshow Company was a Socialist theatre company. It was founded by Gavin Richards in 1973, and in addition to its work in the field of drama it issued a couple of records on its own label, both by the Belt And Braces Band. BB-001 was an eponymous album, and was produced by Martin Hannett; BB-002 was a single, 'Fight For The Right To Work'. The single, which came out in 1978, has been described broadly as 'Folk Rock'. Gavin Richards (born 3 July 1946 in London) is a British actor, writer and director. He is best known for adapting, directing and starring in the West End production of Dario Fo's Accidental Death Of An Anarchist. He also played Captain Alberto Bertorelli in the BBC sitcom 'Allo 'Allo! from 1987 to 1989, and Terry Raymond in the BBC soap opera EastEnders between 1996 and 2002.
