DIY label from the East Midlands. An EP by The Lion, 'He's A Man'(RSL-130), appears to have been Avatar's only release. The catalogue number was taken from the RSL-100 series which was used by Rainbow / Rainbow Sound studios, of Nottingham.  There's no date on the label, but RSL-116 came out in 1978, and the date of RSL-131 - 'Bingo', by The Escorts - is given as 1979. Distributed By Avatar Records.
