Ariel Records A DIY label, apparently a one-off on the Ariel label an EP called 'The Songs Of Ariel' by Guy Woolfenden, Ian Charleson and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Wind Ensemble, which came out in 1978. Recorded 7th and 8th May 1978 at Grosvenor Recording Studios, Birmingham. Recordings of songs from the 1978 RSC production of "The Tempest" with Sir Michael Hordern, Ian Charleson, Sheridan Fitzgerald, Donald Douglas, Richard Griffiths, David Suchet and others. It had a catalogue number of DLC-6791, a matrix number of LYN-5455-IS, which indicates a Lyntone pressing. According to the back of the picture sleeve the address of Ariel Records was Sibford Ferris, Banbury. It seems a reasonable bet that Guy Woolfenden, who wrote the music and conducted it, was the man behind Ariel. Distributed By Ariel Records. Thanks to Robert Lyons For The Info.
