Angelic Upstarts Records was a DIY Punk label, owned by the band of the same name.  Angelic Upstarts put out just the one single, 'The Murder Of Liddle Towers' (IS/AU-1024; 8/78).  It was picked up by Rough Trade / Small Wonder and reissued, as RTSW-001.  The band came to the attention of the major record companies, and they went on to register half a dozen Top Fifty singles with Warner Brothers and EMI / Zonophone. The scan of 'The Murder Of Liddle Towers', was a reissue of the original singles. Witch lacks the 'Small Wonder / Rough Trade' reference under the title. Angelic Upstarts are an English punk rock/Oi! band formed in South Shields in 1977. The band's original members were Thomas Mensforth (Mensi) on vocals, Ray Cowie (Mond) on guitar, Steve Forsten on bass guitar, and Derek "Decca" Wade on drums. Keith Bell was the manager until 1980 when he was jailed for four and a half years for arson. The IS/xx/1000 catalogue series was used by Impulse Studios of Newcastle
